“NEI PARAGGI”, tre buoni motivi per questo nome. È al centro di Salerno, nei paraggi della stazione ferroviaria, a pochi passi dal Corso principale della città e dal Palazzo di Giustizia, a pochi minuti dal Lungomare e dal porto turistico, vicinissimo alla fermata degli autobus diretti a Napoli e all’Università da un lato e alla fermata degli autobus diretti alla Costiera Amalfitana dall’altro. Al B&B ci dedichiamo io e mia figlia Alessandra Paraggio e, terzo motivo, la capacità di sintesi di una cara amica di famiglia che ha subito pensato a “NEI PARAGGI”. La casa, completamente esposta a mezzogiorno è molto luminosa e calda ma, allo stesso tempo, ventilata. Conserva i pavimenti dell’epoca in tutti gli ambienti, i gessetti ai soffitti, i vecchi infissi rimessi a nuovo e, nella piccola zona ristrutturata di recente, le ceramiche di Vietri Scotto. L’ampio salone, comune agli ospiti, è il luogo ideale per leggere, chiacchierare, giocare per i più piccoli o, lavorare per chi non è in giro per vacanze ma per affari. La cucina, se pur così moderna, custodisce i libri di ricette della nonna. |
It is called “NEI PARAGGI” for three good reasons. Translated into English this term means “in the vicinities”. In fact, first of all, the B&B “nei paraggi” is in the centre of Salerno, in the vicinities of the train station, a stone’s throw away from the Main Street – the heart of the city – and a few minutes away from the Courts of Justice. The promenade and the tourist harbour are also very close by. The bus stops heading towards Naples and the University on one side and those travelling towards the Amalfitan Coast on the other side are in the vicinities too. My daughter Alessandra Paraggi and I are the ones dedicated to taking care of the B& B, while the third reason stems from a dear friend’s capability of summarising all this and who thought of the name “NEI PARAGGI”. The house, completely exposed to the South, is very luminous and warm, but at the same time well-ventilated. It conserves the original flooring in all the rooms, the chalks in the ceilings, the old fully-refurbished windows and doors and, in the recently restored area, Vietri Scotto ceramics. The spacious common room is ideal for a quiet read, a friendly chat and a safe area for the younger guests to play, or to work for those who are visiting Salerno on business. The kitchen, even though very modern, safely keeps my grandmother’s recipe books. |
